Patient came last June with a huge facial swelling in relation with an Acute Apical Abscess on tooth 14. This tooth underwent a root canal procedure 18 years ago. The tooth was short so we opted for a non surgical endodontic revision in order to preserve its root length.
On her first appointment both crown and casted post have been removed and filling material has also been retrieved from palatal root canal. We had to let it drain for 30minutes. AB have also been prescribed because of lack of time to complete endo cleaning of buccal canal as well.
Interim Ca(OH)2, final RC obturation as well as a casted post during following appointments. Tooth is now asymptomatic and functional with a provisional crown.
